Roe

Roe: This is the eggs of fish, but in this instance, specifically those of salmon. This is a steelhead fisherman’s best friend. Used fresh (un-cured) or cured, it is most often tied into small clusters using colored netting, which is then used as bait. Fished mostly in rivers and streams as a drift bait, it can also be used in open water or shore casting.

Pictured above is the cured roe.
